WORKERS AT LOCAL OAPs RESIDENCE CONTINUE TO WORK WITHOUT PAY

While the management of the OAPs Residence in Calasparra and the Town Hall swop accusations and counter accusations the workers have still not received their wages for March.
The acting Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, says the company from Alicante currently managing the residence is “incapable of paying the workers or managing the residence.”
For its part the management company accuses the Town Hall of interfering and making matters worse for the workers who continue to work without being paid.
The acting Mayor told Radio Calasparra that “everyone knows that this company are broke or nearly broke.”
He said local suppliers in Calasparra were owed significant amounts of money, debts which carried serious consequences for small businesses.
He also paid tribute to he workers at the centre who were “are making a great sacrifice and showing great professionalism.”
The Town Hall is currently negotiating with the judicial assessor to “unblock the finances” of the management company which are subject to a judicial embargo.
As soon as these finances are unblocked and paid into the account the workers will be paid their wages for March,” added Jesus Navarro.
