The light of Peace from Bethlehem will be officially received at a special mass in the Saints Church on Thursday at 8pm.
The light, in the form of a candle, will be accompanied by the group Animeros from Caravaca.
Traditionally the arrival of the light of peace signifies that the Christmas festivities have begun.
Later at 8.30pm on Friday the Galindo Foundation offers a classical concert in the Municipal Auditorium with the Band of the Superior Music Conservatory of Murcia. Entrance is free.
On Friday December 23 the magnificent municipal “belen” (model nativity) will be officially opened in the Cine Rosales. The music group, La Rondalla, and the Reading Club have prepared special Christmas activities to mark the event.
Father Christmas will visit the town on Friday 4pm and you can find him in Calle Teniente Flomesta.
On Saturday the Brotherhood of the local patron saints will distribute the “light of peace” around the centre of Calasparra accompanied by the group Animeros of Caravaca.
On Christmas night, December 25, the choir of Calasparra will perform in an Extraordinary Concert for Christmas in the Municipal Auditorium at 8.30pm. Entrance free.
