The Local Police have detained two people after surprising them stealing copper cable at Calasparra Railway Station.
The arrests were made after Local Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle near the station.
They immediately drove to the area, leaving the car at some distance from the station, before walking to the site where they found two people in the process of cutting copper cable in an underground culvert after removing the manhole covers.
The two men were arrested. Cutting materials and copper cable, found in their vehicle which was hidden in the bushes, were confiscated.
