This week Calasparra Town Hall held a meeting of the Local Security Council to prepare a plan for the Fiestas.
The Town Hall called the meeting, with the Government Delegate, of the Murcia region, Mariola Geuvara, and the Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia present, to plan the coordination of measures to guarantee safety during the celebrations.
Mariola Guevara commented that Calasparra Town Hall, the Guardia Civil, the Local Police and the Civil Protection had coordinated a special strategy to guarantee that all the events (underlining the bulls runs, concerts, the fiesta marquee and the Summer Festival) evolved normally, peacefully and with the best organisation.
The plan includes reinforcing patrols in the town and around it; provision of medical staff; private security; and «Puntos Violetas» that are a key to the prevention of and attention to victims of sexual aggression.
Finally, the meeting confirmed there would be various Puntos Violeta in the fiesta area and others in the main concerts with professionals specializing in dealing with sexual aggression.
The service for minors would also be reinforced along with campaigns to raise awareness of responsbile alcohol consumption with the aim that responsibility and respect would be the mark of the Fiestas making them safe and civic.
