TOWN HALL SHOWS UP FOR PRIDE DAY

The colours of the lgtbiq flag were proudly displayed on the facade of Calasparra Town Hall this week to mark the day of equality for all on June 28 and to demonstrate that all institutions must work for a world of absolute tolerance, liberty and equality.
A statement from the Town Hall says: «On June 28, the International Day of lgtbiq Pride, we are joining the demands made this day all over the world in commemoration of the protests of Stonewall in 1969, to reaffirm the sentiment of pride of the identities and sexual orientations of a genre traditionally marginalized and repressed, and to give visibility to their presence in society and their demands.
It is a day to remember: «All human beings are born equal and free, in dignity and with rights». These are the words of the first article of the Universal Declaration  of Human Rights, and we must continue to work towards achieving this goal.»
