A fine clear night is predicted for tonight when an exceptional and intense total lunar eclipse will take place between 8.15pm and 9.15pm.
The eclipse is guaranteed to be one of the most spectacular as the shadow of the earth will completely obscure the moon for up to 100 minutes turning it red.
No artificial aids will be necessary to view the eclipse but star gazers are recommended to avoid built up areas where buildings might obscure their view and look towards the east.
Temperatures at 8pm tonight are likely to hover around 32 degrees centigrade and high temperatures are forecast for the rest of the week.
Prepare for a heat wave next week when temperatures on Tuesday are predicted to rise above 37 degrees and please take care in the sun.
It is advisable to avoid outside activities during the heat of the day, including walking, to wear light, loose clothing, to use sun screen, a hat, sunglasses and to drink plenty of water.
