Today is International Women´s Day, March 8, and Calasparra Town Hall has presented a month of events to celebrate the acvhievements of women and to recognise the fight for equality of opportunities, freedom from prejudice and equal rights for women all over the world.
This morniung at 12 midday a Manifesto will be read in the Plaza de la Corredera and Radio Calasparra is running a special programme to commemeorate International Women´s Day.
This afternoon there will be an exhibition entitled «Pioneering Women» in the Exhibition Space in Calle Mayor.
At 8pm there wjill be a lecture entitled «Women, there is not much time» on the third fl.oor of the Exhibition Space.
On March 11 from 10am to 1.30pm the youngest of the town have a date at the Youth Centre to create a thematic Mural of Equality.
At the end of the week at 6pm the OAPs Club will recognise local women for their implication over the years,
