The Local Police and the Guardia Civil have arrested three youths who were in the process of robbing the premises of the Diosa Canning Plant in Calasparra.
Officers from the Local Police called the Guardia Civil when they saw flashes of torchlight in the Diosa premises and on entering the plant saw three youths who were allegedly attempting to rob the premises. After a struggles the three youths were arrested.

Later the officers found a vehicle hidden near the plant and found different tools presumably for use in the robbery.
The detainees were placed at the disposal of magistrates.
The Diosa Canning Plant, that employed many local people, has been empty for several years following its closure by management. It has been the subject of industrial action by the former workers and various attempts to re-opem it have failed. The plant has also been the subject of various legal proceedings.
