An important national cycling event, the Tour of Spain, returns to Calasparra this year passing through the town.
Around September 3 the ninth stage of the Tour will leave Cartagena and finish in Caravaca, as part of the promotion of the Holy Year next year.
The cyclists are expected to pass through Calasparra on September 3 between 3.20pm and 4.25pm.
First to appear will be the «caravan» of support vehicles then the multi-cooured serpent of cyclists will enter Calasparra for the RM552, Mula Road and will leave by the RM-B32, «Cuesta Blanca,» in the directiion of Valentin, via Canara, Cehegin and to the finish line in Caravaca.
