THE FIGHT AGAINST THE PROCESSIONARY HAS BEGUN

The fight to control the processionary caterpillar in Calasparra has begun as the Town Hall fumigates pine trees in the area.
The project began in the Caastle area before the rains and strong winds interrupted the work. However, yesterday work to control the processionary caterpillar, that is so dangerous for pets, especially dogs, and children  was resumed in the Daya Park, Peace Park and the Dogs Play Area (near the Sierra de San Miguel).
The next area to be fumigated is the Dogs Rescue Refuge.
All the areas fumigated will be closed for 24 hours after treatment or security reasons.
If your dog has contact with a processionary caterpillar take him/her to the vet immediately as the affects can prove fatal.
