One of the local religious brotherhoods, the Brotherhood of the Nazarenos, organised a charity event to collect toys, non perishable food and hygiene products to be distributed among families in Calasparra to ensure everyone could enjoy Christmas.
A «throne» full of the donations formed part of the procession through the town centre accompanied by a band playing traditional Spanish Christmas songs.
For each kilo of donations received one euro will be donated to the cancer research charity, Calasparra Se Mueve .
