Anyone who is interested in installing the new pressionised drop irrigation system on their land should sign on with the Farmers and Smallholders Association before August 16.
The Association has printed full information (www.calasparra.org) on the new proposal which gives landowners the opportunity to opt in for the new system.
Those who don´t sign on for the new system will continue to use water from the irrigation channels.
Under the new system pipelines and an entry point for the water will be installed inside every property. There will be a system of water meters. If 100% of the members sign on for the system it will cost approximately 25€ a taulla alternatively if only 50% sign on it will cost almost double. There is finance avaliable over 15 or 25 years.
