SECOND TIME LUCKY FOR LEFT COALITION CANDIDATE?

Local biologist, Ricardo Garcia, will stand against the current Mayor as the official candidate for the coalition of left wing parties in the municipal elections in May.

It may be second time lucky for Ricardo who stood for the municipal elections for the first time in 2007 and narrowly missed being elected by just two votes.

Ricardo, aged 37 and Coordinator of the United Left Party of Calasparra, will top the list of candidates for the coalition. He is a biology graduate and works at the Water Treatment Plant in the Cortao Rojo area of the town.

He says: «This year the United Left hopes to win at the ballot box. With the experience we now have and the work on the structure of the Party we hope to secure the most votes that we can in order to gain representation and change the political prism of the area.

“One of our most important aspirations is to have the possibility of changing the way politics is run in Calasparra. We would always provide transparent information and encourage the participation of local residents so that the Calasparrians can have the town of their dreams.

“In these difficult economic times it is also indispensable that local administrative budgets are put at the service of creating employment and improving public services” he says.
