The central government has announced details of a package aimed to reduce the cost of electricity for vulnerable, numerous and low income families by 40% and the bills of residents with communal heating by 50%.
This 3,000 million euro package includes a new tariff for residents with communal heating, which will substantially reduce bills (by at least 50%) regardless of income.
The other measure is to extend the “bono social energetico”, (discount) available to vulnerable consumers and families with numerous members, from 65% to 80% and introduces a new discount of 40% for workers with low incomes.
Anyone who thinks they may be eligible for this discount should apply through the Social Security Office in Calasparra.
