Local residents can win between 100 and 300 euros towards ornaments and flowers for their neighbourhood by signing up for II Flower Competition for streets, squares, corners and balconies in Calasparra.
All residents are being encouraged to create ornamental spaces in their neighbourhood, whether it is a balcony, a street or a square, and enter the competition by signing on at the Office of Tourism before April 30. The prizes of 300 euros, 200 euros and 100 euros worth of ornaments or flowers for first, second and third places will be announced on May 3. Last year’s winner was Calle Socovos.
The competition has been organized by the Town Hall to coincide with the Flower Fiesta this weekend and the spring visit by the statue of Virgin from the Sanctuary.
The “Fiesta de las Flores” will take place in the Plaza de la Corredera on Friday and Saturday mornings.
The Sanctuary Foundation and the Brotherhood of the local patron saints are collaborating with these events.
