Although the celebration of the Last Supper in the Merced Church is likely to go ahead the procession scheduled for 9.30pm this evening will be cancelled if it rains. The ceremony at 11pm in the same church will go ahead as planned.
Unfortunately showers over the Easter weekend may lead to the cancellations of any or all of the traditional processions which will be a great disappointment to all the poll bearers and bands who have spent the last few months practicing as well as the spectators.
Heavy rain and thunder storms are predicted for Easter Sunday the day of the grand procession which is the highlight of the celebrations and includes the famous “meeting” of the statue of Jesus and Mary in the Plaza de la Corredera.
