While so many rural areas in Spain are suffering from decreases in population that are threatens their future existence Calasparra has experienced an increase in population over the last year.
According to the National Statistics Instittute (INE) the population of Calasparra has increased by 147 in the census of 2025 compared to that of 2024 bringing the current total population of our municipal area to 10,384.
This increase places Calasparra among the municipal areas in the North West region of Murcia and the Murcia region that are growing rather than decreasing bucking the trend of depopulation in rural areas in Spain.
