POLICE INVESTIGATE POSSIBLE PET POISONING

The police and the Guardia Civil are investigating the possible poisoning of three dogs, two of which have died and the other is gravely ill, in the Cuesta Blanca area.
Yesterday, Dogs Rescue issued a warning about lethal and rapid poison being left in the area around the Iron Bridge and the Mula Road area.
The three dogs  had all passed through the same area near the river Mula and the Cuesta Blanca last Thursday, a popular place for people walking their dogs.
The dogs all had the same symptoms and rapidly became ill leading the authoritites to believe they had been poisoned.
The police and the Guardia Civil are currently investigating and have collected various samples from the area for analysis by Seprona.
Access to the area has not been restricted.
The symptoms reported by Dogs Rescue yesterday were trembling, vomiting, diarrhea and producing a lot of saliva.
Readers are advised to avoid this area when walking their dogs and to take their petss to the vet immediately if they show any of these symptoms.
A reader on Facebook has also reported that her cat died 10 days ago near the affected area.
