Over 40 contestants took part in the first MABS Cancer Charity Quiz of the year yesterday and raised over 300 euros for MABS.
The contestants took to their tables for a bit of fun, test their knowledge and hopefully come away the winners.
After a misty start to the day, in lovely afternoon sunshine for a few hours there were questions in the first part of the quiz, on Animals, Transport, Food & Drink and TV Themes, all with a musical element to the questions.
After the Raffle with an amazing amount of prizes (thankyou to everyone who contributed) the second part of the Quiz had questions on Books, Art, Multi Choice and James Bond.
With a quizmaster who was a bit rusty after the winter break, there were plenty of reminders from the quizzers to bring him up to date on which question was due !!!
It was an enjoyable afternoon with the eventual winners being the Scrambled Egg Heads from Coto Rinales winning a bag of four Cadburys Creme Eggs for each member of the Team.
The Booby Prize (for coming last) went to a deserving team called Piston N Broke (an all male Team who came along just to take part) and for their effort received a Creme Egg each.
The total amount raised was 315 euros, a great amount and MABS would like to thank all those who volunteered to help in the afternoon but especially to the people who came along to make up the Teams and contributed through entry fee and raffle ticket purchases.
MABS next event is a Race Day at La Plaza Restaurant in Calasparra on the May 8 at 2.30pm. at a price of 20 euros, which includes entry ticket, a meal with beer, wine or soft drinks.
