Farmers in the area of the Tajo-Segura wáter transfer, in the middle of the area between Cieza and Calasparra, will benefit from a new six million euro reservoir and a drop irrigation system whihc will exploit “every drop of wáter.”
The new 850,000 cubic metre reservoir, the “Puente de la Via” was officially opened yesterday by the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, nd the Mayor of Cieza, Francisco Tamayo, with the President of the Central Union of Farmers, Francisco del Amor who represents 200 members.
The reservoir has been funded by the regional government and European funds.
