The artistic mural of artist, Dan Ferrer, has been inaugurated by the Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia and members of her government team.
The artist completed the work, which looks down on the parking área in central town, last weekend.
According to the artist the 100 metre mural represents childhood, tolerance, peace and union. It pays homage to childhood to underline Calasparra´s recognition by UNICEF as a friendly city for children.
The concept of union between different elements is represented by the sprig of rice the child is offering to a dove (as in the famous work by Picasso), an international symbol of peace). The mural has light and strong colours and also features a lamp, which appears in Picasso´s Guernica.
The artista also organised workshops in “Street art” for the children of Calasparra.
Art by Dan Ferrer can also be seen in New York, Rome, Milan, London, Frankfurt, Budapest, Madrid, Biarritz (Francia) and Durango (México), amongst others.
