The Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, has defended himself and the agenda for the full meeting of the Town Hall on local radio by demanding that the PP “behave with respect.”
Appearing on Radio Calasparra the Mayor said: “I am not a dictator or a bad person.” He went on to say that the opposition party, the Partido Popular, table 13 motions for the agenda of every meeting of the local administration, and “put the same motions forward every month.”
“There has to be some limit to the length of the meetings which would be interminable if we debated 13 PP motions every month. The meetings can´t last longer than midnight,” he said.
The Mayor claimed the agenda was drawn up by the governing group at the Town Hall and “not by me alone” and that the “most important issues” were tabled.
The PP held a Press Conference on Tuesday at which they claimed the Mayor had deliberately excluded seven opposition motions from the agenda for tonight´s meeting and said they were considering taking legal action.
