Local police officers evacuated a house on fire in Calle Vicente Medino last night and were able to contain the blaze until the fire brigade arrived.
The officers received a report from a neighbour at 11.30pm reporting a fire in a house in central Calasparra. Arriving on the scene the officers discovered the fire had originated in furniture on a patio.
The police rapidly evacuated the dwelling and the neighbouring house, closing all the doors to prevent the fire spreading. Using fire extinguishers they managed to contain the blaze and prevent it spreading to neighouring houses.
The fire brigade were able to extinguish the fire without any personal damage or major damage.
