The Indian summer in Calasparra which has seen daytime temperatures hovering in the high 20´s, means the ecological produce stall in Friday´s market still has summer vegetables on offer.
This week the “Ecologico” stall, which stands outside the gates of the Cine Rosales, will be offering fresh beetroot, cucumbers, radishes, tomatoes and lettuce as well as courgettes, spinach, Swiss chard and turnips.
The stall does not open until 10am as we have to wait for daylight, nowadays just after 8am, in order to pick the vegetables fresh for sale.
In the near futures we will be offering potatoes, parsnips, cabbage, purple sprouting, broccoli, broad beans, swede, Jersusalem artichokes and Brussel sprouts in time for Christmas. We are also able to offer fresh herbs such as bay leaves, thyme, basil, parsley and mint to order.
As the vegetables come from straight from our garden to your table with no intermediaries we are able to sell them at rock bottom prices.
Pay the “Ecologico” a visit you will be nicely surprised by the prices and delighted by the taste of vegetables grown with just sun and water and not contaminated by any chemicals or artificial fertilizers.
