The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, has presented the keys of Calasparra to local man and professional footballer, Higinio Marín Escavy.

At 29 years old Higinio Marín currently plays for Albacete Balompié in the SmartBank League and is the top scorer of his team.
He trained at Real Murcia but has played with Real Valladolid Promesas, UCAM Murcia, C.D Numancia and international clubs such as P.F.C Ludogorets, Bulgaria, and Gornik Zabrze, Poland. However, he began his career playing junior football in Calasparra.
