The palm trees in Spain have been suffering from a plague of “picudo rojo” (an insect) which has been described as “very worrying.”
The Department of Agriculture has organized a information session on this destructive creature at the Casa de la Cultura, Calasparra on Wednesday at 7pm.
The damage caused by these insects is not visible until it is too late and an infestation normally results in the death of the tree.
