A rise of between four to 10% in IBI (Council Tax) is part of the austerity package announced by the Town Hall and confirmed at the meeting on Monday night.
The cost of a licence for a dangerous breed of dog also rises from five to 50 euros and the cost of removing illegally parked or abandoned cars will cost from 30 to 150 euros, depending on the vehicle.
Residents and businesses who apply for permanent “vados” (no parking areas normally to protect a garage entrance) will have to pay 50 euros and the cost of registering civil partnerships will rise from 50 euros to 75 euros.
The Deputy Mayor, José Veléz, says the rise in taxes are due to an adjustment of Town Hall revenue to the Austerity Package.
“These are rises that we are obliged to impose to avoid these services registering a loss at the end of the year.”
