Although most of Spain is enjoying the end of the heatwave the Met Office have issued an Orange Weather Warning for high temperatures in the North West Murcia region, that includes Calasparra.
Temperatures are expected to reach 42C in our area between 11am and 9ipm today, Monday.
There is also a Yellow Weather Warning for rain and storms between 12 midday and midnight in the North West region of Murcia.
A warning of the extreme risk of wildfires in the countryside has been in effect all week. Residents are reminded if they see smoke or fire to contact 112 emergency services immediately.
