A Garden of Verses has been established in the public area around the Casa de la Cultura in Calasparra to commemorate Interational Poetry Day.
The Mayoress of Calaaparrea, Teresa Garcia, with local author and poet, Pedro Antonio Martínez Robles, who had the original idea for the project, officially inaugurated the garden yesterday.
Some 35 poems on plaques, by local and regional authors, are displayed on  stones of varying tones, aimed at giving  the world of culture, and in particular literature, a special place in Calasparra where residents can read the poems at leisure.
The poems by authors: Pedro Antonio Martínez Robles, Enrique Rius Zunón, José María Rius Galindo, Antonio López, Luis Escavy, Teresa Vicente, Ángel Almela, Rosa Campos, Eloy Sánchez Rosillo, Dionisia García, Charo Guarino, Ginés Aniorte, amongst other regional poets, will be on permanent display in the Garden of Verses.
