Hundreds of Calasparrians crowded in and around the Merced Church in Calasparra early yesterday evening for the funeral of the two young local men who died in a terrible road accident on Tuesday morning.
This tragic scene was duplicated in Fortuna where the town is mourning the death of two young men, who died at the scene of the accident, and a companion who died hours afterwards.
Manuel Campos Head of the regional Justice Department and the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, political leaders and members of the Town Hall, were amongst those who attended the service.
Two of the three men injured in the crash are making “favorable progress” in hospital although one remains in intensive care. The condition of the third Calasparrian is giving rise to concern. He remains in intensive care and is reportedly in a “grave condition.”
The two men who died have been named as José Joaquín Prieto Fernández and Juan Antonio Pastor Sánchez,
