Roundabouts are a relatively new phenonenon in Spain and despite regular instructions and diagrams by the Ministry of Transport many drivers still change lanes, abruptly and cutting infront of other vehicles.
New fines of between 200 and 500 euros and a loss of six points on the driving licence are the new penalties for driving dangerously around roundabouts and putting lives at risk. Specifically the offence is changing lanes without respecting the priority of other vehicles on roundabouts.
