EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANKS REDUCES INTEREST RATES

The first move by the new President of the European Central Bank has been to cut interest rates by a quarter of a percent.
European interest rates were 1.25% under his predecessor who had predicted more rises before the end of the year. They now stand at 1.5%.
The reduction should have a knock on effect on mortgage rates although economists are doubtful the financial institutions will pass on the reduction to customers.
