The European Commission must present legislative procedures in are four different areas to tackle the energy crisis and exhorbitant costs facing consumers and businesses.
All EU Energy Ministers agreed yesterday that the proposals must be ready for their next meeting next Tuesday.
The four ambits will be to limit the profits of electricity companies with low production costs; to introduce a solidarity investment by combustible fossil fuel companies; an urgent limit on the price of gas; and measures to cut the demand for electricity.
