This is plea for help and support from local charity, Dogs Rescue, who are currently overwhelmed by the number of dogs and puppies found abandoned in Calasparra.
The following article is a direct translation of their appeal after rescueing two greyhounds this morning.
MORE ABANDONED DOGS
This morning we have taken in a pair of greyhounds found in the area of the Canoe Club near the Segura river.
Yesterday they weren´t there. They must have been abandoned there during the night or early this morning.
They are two males: a puppy of six months and one of about 18 months.
They were hiding in the tall canes.
It was easy to rescue them with treats as they were very tired and hungry.
We took them to the Quipr Clinic where they were dewormed, given food and rested.
We need your help! There are so many animals being abandoned. In the last few days we have taken in mothers with litters of puppies (3); puppies abandoned alone; and now these two greyhounds, in addition to the animals we have in the refuge
We are completely overwhelmed and facing more and more expense.
These greyhounds have no chip.
