The voluntary association, Dogs Rescue, Calasparra, has issued a warning to dog owners not to walk their pets or allow them to roam near the old Iron Bridge on the Mula Road or in the Las Arreturas area.
In the last few days, according to the Association, there have been several possible cases of intoxication due to a poison, which is described as «rapid and lethal».
The symptoms, which appear within a very short time of exposure, are shaking, vomiting, saliva and diarrhea. Any animal with these symptoms should consult a vet immediately as the poison can prove fatal.
