After a tense week of accusations and counter accusations the Murcian Health Service has announced it will pay the region’s dispensing chemists the 30 million euros outstanding for the prescription drugs for the month of March.
Although the chemists welcome the announcement and claim they “are confident it will solve the immediate problem”, they maintain their position, announced in a statement in the regional press on Monday, that they will close individual establishments from May 9 if the debt is not settled.
The dispensing chemists are currently negotiating a solution which will ensure they are paid punctually up until September.
