The result of this home game to Baza Azul could have gone either way with both teams enjoying ample opportunities on goal. However, it was Calasparra’s Alacid who put the home team in front a few minutes from the end of the first half with a brilliant shot on goal from outside the area.
The local team had numerous opportunities to score during the second half but it was their opponents who secured a goal in the 42nd minute to draw the game. At this point the game could have gone either way but in the event it was Alex who scored the winning goal for Calasparra in the last minute of normal time.
Before the game all players, staff and spectators observed a minute’s silence in solidarity with Japon where there was a catastrophic earthquake and tsunami last Friday.
