CALASPARRA CELEBRATES CHILDRENS’ RIGHTS

The Plaza de la Corredera was full of activities on Saturday to commemorate the International Day of Childrens’s Rights.
During the day local children were able to take part in various workshops and assist in the design of a special card specifying the rights of children.
The central act of the day was the reading of a Manifesto by membes of the local Committee of Infants and Children (Alba, Nuria, María, Gema, Irene, Alicia, Lola and Triana), who gave voice to the rights that must always be protected and guaranteed.
The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, the head of the local department of Equality, Teresa Salinas; and Carolina Olivares, President of the Murcian Commitee of UNICEF, all took part in the event.
Calasparra was named a «Child Friendly City» by UNICEF in 2018.
