Hundreds of Calasparrians turned out on a fresh evening on Christmas Eve to take part in the launch of hundreds of paper lanterns.
Traditionally the cost of the lanterns goes to charity and the sky is filled with the tiny lights and the hopes of those who launch them.
Christmas Eve is the «big night» here in Spain where families all over the nation get together for a celebration evening meal. However, before dinner in Calasparra there was a visit from Santa Claus for the lttle ones; music from the Association Band of Music and the OAPs group, the Rondalla; a tree of wishes and a photocall all to make «Nochebuena» an evening to remember.
