New roads and squares are springing up all over Calasparra and as fast as the work on these projects is completed there is an official opening ceremony.
Yesterday, Friday, another public space, rehabilitated at a cost of 50,000 euro, in the old town was inaugurated and named the Plaza de la Villa Vieja by the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro.
The new square is 232 square metres and has two fountains one of which has drinking water, benches and ornamental garden areas. The square connects the Plaza del Barrero with the Placeta de los Pascuales.
The spate of recent inaugurations may be connected to the new Law of Elections which sets a March 28 deadline for “inauguration ceremonies and similar events” which are prohibited during the election campaign.
