Calasparra ¨s September Fiestas have officially begun as a local “peña” launched the traditional “chupinazo” (rocket) from the balcony of the Town Hall today at midday.
The youngsters had been selected after a draw was conducted amongst all the local youth groups.
Even the predicted rain stayed away yesterday for the Children´s Adventure Park in Central town and the streets were full of inflatables and excited kids.
Today, there were crowds, market stalls and games for the children in the Plaza de la Corredera as Calasparra waited for the rocket which announces that the party has begun.
The junior bull run was also held today and a large inflatable bull entertained the toddlers.
The first bull run (encierro) will be tomorrow, Saturday.
