A magical night at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Hope with an open air mass in the main square, an opening speech by school teacher, Marcial Garcia, and music by moonlight with the Association Basnd of Music of Calasparra, marks the advent of the September fiestas.
This year, to mark ther 20th anniversary of the canonization of the “Virgin de la Esperanza” the statue will be carried, in pilgrimage, to Calasparra on September 2, and will stay in the Merced Church until September 7, when there will be a return pilgrimage.
