The cool weather we are all enjoying, following the sizzling heat in July, is likely to continue into next week and today the Met Office has issued a warning for storms.
The yellow alert is active between 12 midday today, Wednesday, and 8pm, with between 40 and 70 percent possibilities of heavy rain and stormy weather.
Farmers and gardeners will have their fingers crossed as there is a possibility of hail, just when all the summer vegetables and fruits are ripening.
Editors note: If you hear a series of loud bangs during the storms this may well be the “anti hail canons” controversially installed in Cieza by the farming community to protect their crops and produce.
