The Mayor of Calasparra, José Vélez, held a meeting at San Esteban with the Presient of the regional government, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, to discuss various topics of general interest which affect the local area.
Among the subjects under discussion were the communications infrastructure, employment and the financing of various projects.
“The visit was very cordial, “ says the Mayor, “The President was very receptive and has promised to help us as much as he can.”
The Mayor went on to say the regional governmetn are committed to the Autovia del Norte, a stretch of 68 k.
Assistence for local farmers and improvments to sports facilities as well as the Auditorium, the Casa de la Cultura, the Music School and the Musuems were also on the agenda.
