The English Club and the Broadcast of English News on local radio by the pupìls of the Emilio Perez Piñero High School has caught the eye of the selectors of the competition, Innovative Educational Projects.
The project, which has been selected for the regional prize, is coordinated by Antonia Martínez Llorente assisted by teachers from the school.
THE ENGLISH CLUB is a weekly meeting for pupils, their families, teachers and native English speakers resident in Calasparra which aims to improve spoken English at the centre. A Spanish language lesson follows for the participating English speakers.
CALASPARRA ENGLISH NEWS ON THE RADIO consists of a translation of local news broadcast weekly on Radio Calasparra.
AROUND THE WORLD WITH SIX SONGS is a project where pupils have prepared four programmes for the radio with geographical, social and cultural contents. The common thread is music and the programmes are recorded simultaneously in English and Spanish
