The Brotherhood of the Patron Sainsts of Calasparra has announced there will be no winner of the annual agricultural prize, in the gift of the brotherhood, after the nominee declined the honour due to ill health.
However, the annual Harvest Festival Mass will go ahead in the Saints Church at 8pm on October 31 with the Rondalla OAPs music group.
During the mass a member of the brotherhood will receive the symbolic honour of the “bunch of grapes” and the fruits held by the statues of the patron saints will be renewed.
