HOTTEST JULY SINCE 1941

The average temperature in July this year was 28.2 centigrade, according to the Met Office, making it the hottest July for 74 years.
Average rainful in July was 4.7 litres per square metre.
The average maximum temperature in the region was a scorching 35.5 degrees, some 2.7 degrees higher than normal, and the average minimum was 20.8 degrees.
The hottest place in the region of Murcia was Los Valientes, a village near Molino de Segura, with an all time high of 44.2 degrees.
August has begun in the same vein and today the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for temperatures of 38 degrees in the Vega de la Segura. According to the forecast sources the hottest day this week will be Thursday.
