AFTER 36 YEARS THE SOCIALISTS STILL RULE IN CALASPARRA

Five parties fought the municipal elections and five parties will have presentation in the new local government in the Town Hall.
The Socialists maintain their eight representatives and were the most voted party in the elections. However, they failed by one seat to secure a majority and will depend on of the other parties to support them during the legislature.
Last elections it was the United Left and Greens, Ricardo Garcia, who had the casting vote between the two main parties, the PSOE and the Partido Popular who logged eight seats each. This year, at least for the Conservative Partido Popular, it is a different story.
The PP lost five of their eight seats and they have been distributed between three new parties: GANAR ( with United Left and Greens) one seat; Ciudadanos with two seats; and Calasparra Viva with three seats.

This is how the parties shared the votes.
The participation was lower than in 2011 when it was 77.43%. This year it was 72.06%.
Of the 7.565 citizens allowed to vote some 5.451 actually voted.
