EX PRESIDENT OF MURCIA ACCUSED BY JUDGE

Ramón Luis Valcárcel, former President of the autonomous regional Government of Murcia and current Vice President of the European Parliament, has been given 30 days to appear in court voluntarily after being accused of perversion of justice and bribery:
The charges are in connection with the alleged illegal requalification of land for hotels and housing in Novo Carthago:
Valcárcel has told the press he denies all the charges.
The Judge has given him 30 days to voluntarily produce documents and evidence and make a public declaration.
The daughter of the ex President and his son-in-law have also been accused in the same matter as have the two partners of Faomur Constructions.
Last Friday Judge Abadía referred to Valcárcel as a member of the plot which drove through the alleged illegal requalification of land at Novo Carthago, using his son-in-law and his own daughter as “frontmen,” with the intention of covering up 30,000 euros paid into their account by splitting it up into 30 payments of 1,000 euros, in contravention of money laundering regulations.
This is the same matter over which the regional Minister of Agriculture and Water, Cerdá, resigned earlier this week.
Also accused in the plot are the Mayoress of Cartegena, Pilar Barriero, and the current Government Delegate, Joaquín Bascuñana.
The Novo Carthago complex consists of 10,000 houses plus hotels.
