According to a post on Facebook the electronic prescription, which means patients don´t have to go to the Health Centre to pick up their paper prescription, has arrived in Calasparra.
The system allows GP´s to transmit the information on the prescription form directly to the dispensing chemist.
When patients consult their GP they will be given a “Hoja de Tratamiento” ( a treatment sheet). This must be shown, with the patient´s medical card, to the dispensing chemist in order to collect the medicine prescribed..
In case the patient´s medical card has been lost or damaged the presciption will be dispensed if only the treatment sheet is presented.
Under this new system it will not be necessary for patients to collect their prescriptions from the Health Centre.
